PRIVATE POLICY

Our Dance Policies: 

Our dance policies and code of conduct allow our students, staff, parents and the community to understand our values as a school and to allow others to have a clear understanding of what we expect allowing the students to receive high quality teaching for them to progress in.  We reserve rights to update the website prior to notice, and to refuse members attending the dance classes if rules are not adhered too. 

Dancers code of conduct:

  • Respect all staff members when being spoken too

  • Being positive and willingly trying out new techniques or corrections given in class

  • No shouting out when the teachers talking

  • Be kind and always encourage each other

  • No bullying we DO NOT tolerate this at our academy 

  • Ensure uniform is worn at every dance class

  • Regular class attendance

  • Presenting yourself well in class, such as having hair tied back neatly out of the face

  • Never let any allegations made by a young person go without being recorded or addressed 

Safeguarding policy:

LMG Dance Academy has a safe guarding policy in place.
LMG Dance Academy also recognises that safeguarding promotes the welfare of children and young people and we as a school are committed to safeguarding practice that reflects responsibilities, and government guidance and complies with best practice requirements.

We will ensure that all young children who attend the academy are protected from harm and we ensure all staff, volunteers and students understand the principles which guide them in child protection. All staff and volunteers are DBS checked, which has been seen and approved by LMG Dance Academy Principal. 

Social media policy:

Purpose: 

 

A social media policy is an official company document which provides guidelines and requirements for all organisations for social media use. Social media is made to be used in a professional way only. 

 

The purpose of social media is to help students when wanting to practice out of studio time, but also to protect the school and community and to use it in an effective way. 

 

Benefits of using social media for the school: 

 

  • Promotes the school in the community and encourages young children to come to classes in the area

  • Enables others of what to expect and what we offer giving them the opportunity to get in contact 

  • Allows viewers to see what our disciplines are and correct uniform 

  • Builds a strong community 

  • Create dance videos which the audience can engage in 

  • Given opportunities 

  • Gives insights of classes and showcases 

 

Confidentiality:

 

All parents MUST sign the photography form and state whether their children are allowed or not allowed on social media and if it's for class purposes only, and all paperwork is kept securely away, and kept confidential. 

 

The use of social media:

 

  • Parents should only post/share their child on social media unless given consent from the other parents.

 

  • Students should not message the teachers or volunteers on their personal social media pages.

 

  • You should always contact the academy’s email or social media pages for any help regarding tips or questions about the class work.

 

  • If you want to film or take photographs for rehearsal purposes, you MUST ask the principal/teachers for permission - whoever is present in the room. If for any reason this has been breached you will be asked immediately to take all evidence down.

Data Protection Policy:
(General Data Protection Regulations) 

The GDPR is given information to the business which is personal data and enables us to identify an individual. 

What data is included in the data protection regulations?

 

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Personal medical information

  • Social media posts

  • Addresses

  • Photos

Any forms with personal information on such as phone numbers, names and or addresses, are kept confidential with LMG Dance Academy. LMG Dance Academy ensures that the forms will be deleted if no longer required and will only keep information for as long as it is needed.  For any students not attending LMG Dance Academy within a 3-month period, all information will be destroyed by shredding.

 

LMG Dance Academy needs to keep personal information about the students in order to carry out the dance classes. As an academy, we will collect, store, amend, destroy or delete any personal data to protect the students'/parents' or guardians' privacy which act in accordance with ‘General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other legalisations. LMG Dance Academy, will however only collect and use the minimum that we need and will not collect or use data that would not be relevant. 

 

We will only collect, use and store information to comply with legal obligations and to provide individuals information about them upon request by the individual. LMG Dance Academy will delete data if the individual unless stated otherwise such as legal purposes and to always ensure that the personal data is kept updated and accurate. 

 

We will always keep the information safe and stored away securely. We keep all the records of the data used for these purposes only. Lastly, we will not share any personal data with third parties without the consent of the relevant individual.

Recording and Record keeping:

A record must be kept of any concerns regarding an adult with safeguarding needs. This must include details of the person involved, the main concern and the actions that have been taken, and the decisions that have been made and why they were. 

 

All records must be signed and dated. All records must be securely and confidentially stored in line with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) for LMG Dance Academy.
